Getting Ready for Puerto Rico

We're down to the last week before vacation. I decided to do a more in depth blogging of vacation. After all, if anything can bring on lots of humorous adventures, vacationing with a 1-1/2 year old is it!! I'm sure Sarah will give me lots to blog about. We've been enjoying this beautful weather. It almost makes me sad that we're spending all this money and the weather is gorgeous here. Not that I want the weather to take a turn for the worse but it does justify the money we're spending on vacation. Sarah loves being outside. This morning she woke and the first thing she said to me was, "Walk". This is her way of saying, "lets go for a walk". She can walk alot. I was surprised, I've been taking her for walks and she just keeps going and going. She loves to kick her ball around the back yard. She just kicks it and then runs to catch up and kicks it again. I'm thinking she's gonna be a soccer player. It seems that three out of three of...

How Blessed Can I Be?

SOoo many things have happened...too many to type. I really try to keep up with my blog but I just can't do it all. Here are some highlights: 1. God is Great and I love how He reveals His will for my life. 2. Sarah is getting Bigger, what a blessing and a joy. She is such a happy kid. She is really a mama's girl and does everything I do and say. Oh how careful I have to be. 3. The Lord really laid it on my heart for a cloth Diaper ministry, Quiver Bunz. He is providing and allowing everything to fall into place. 4. Just when I think it can't get any better, The Lord also opened up the door for me to start my own business. Precious Bunz. 5. I have a great husband who is very supportive. 6. The Lord has placed great women/ people in my life. How blessed I am!! I am really excited about the cloth diaper ministry. My hearts desire is to minister to these mama's who might be considering abortion. I want to show them the Love and Provision that can ONLY come from Christ. The ...

Worship in Sewing.

I've wanted to learn how to sew since I was a very small child. I don't know why but the thought of taking some fabric and making something pretty and useful has always been a desire for me. I've tried to learn throughout the years but failed every time. I'd get frustrated and give up. Even though I gave up, I'd still want to learn and would try and try and try and try again. I've finally learned how to sew...Ok, so I'm not an expert but i've made some items that are definately being used. For those of you who follow this blog or my Facebook, then you can see that I'm making cloth diapers. I have also made Sarah her first dress. I'll post pics once I finish up the sleeves. It started out as a long sleeve, but now it's going to be a short-sleeved dress. It's all part of learning. Here are a few things the Lord has shown me: Patience ...sewing requires patience. Patience to learn and then patience to cut out all the pieces and assemble them...

Christmas Time

It's been a while since I've written. I've been busy, learning how to sew. I'm getting really good at making diapers, inserts, bibs, burp cloths. I've stayed away from making dresses...only because i'm a big wimp. I know once I break out the pattern and start learning that I'll do a decent job and then get better. I'm also getting ready for Christmas. I love this time of year. I don't know why but having a baby in the house again really makes it special. Not that we "do" Santa, but I love watching her face and seeing her surprise when she gets a new toy. She loves the tree and keeping her from playing with the ornaments has proven easier then I thought. She's really a pleasant child. I enjoy her very much. She's talking and signing ALOT. Her signing vocabulary is very big but her motor skills are still that of a 15 month old. So, she signs and I don't always understand what she's signing? Wasn't signing suppose to help w...

Bibs-a-Palooza

I love bibs. When Sarah was younger, she drooled like a faucet. It was so bad that she'd go through tons of bibs every day. She'd soak one and then I'd put on another. I wished that I had a bib that would absorb more drool.... I think I came up with something that will help... "Zorb" bibs...or as I like to call them, "Drool Catchers". I took my bib pattern and I added a layer of Zorb. Zorb is a man-made material that a company in Canada came up with, http://www.wazoodle.com/ , It's extremely absorbant and it's being used in cloth diaper soakers. I used it in the smaller bibs because the bigger/longer bibs are really for older babies, who have usually gotten their drooling under control. This is my "Drool Catcher"..I love holiday prints. This one is my favorite. The bib's outter is cotton with a matching cotton print on the back, zorb center. These are cotton pink and blue butterflys on one side with Crushed Panne velour on the othe...

My !st Pocket Diaper

Image
Well, I've finally lost my mind..... Not only do I use cloth diapers...I've decided to learn how to make my own. I'm not off to a good start. My 1st one, the "REAL" 1st one, wasn't even usable. I don't know what happened. Iused the Jalie pattern and it was really difficult. I love the way they looked but the video made it look easier then it really was. Considering i'm new to sewing, I think I took on more then I could chew. or in my case...sew. This one came out much better. It's the Raspberry PUL Outter with Alova Microsuede liner. I'm using Microfiber inserts. This one was made with the DDU Pattern (Darling Diaper Unlimited). This pattern is great. Lots of great instructions with pictures. Nothing fancy, just a great usable diaper. You can make covers, fitteds, AIO's and Pockets with this one pattern. It also gives you the sizes you need for the inserts or soakers. It's a great pattern , well worth the $12.50. Here are some pics: Her...

Climbing Mt. Everest

NOT REALLY!! Like i'd really climb Mt. Everest? I'm too busy....sewing. :0) Sarah is climbing up the stairs. This isn't a great feat by our standards but to a 1 year old...this is Mt. Everest. She'd been eyeing the stairs for a long while. I finally said to her, "Go ahead, lets go upstairs". She started climbing like she'd been watching me and just waiting for the go-ahead. She started climbing, laughing and then mid-way up the stairs she turned around and looked down. I realized that she must be looking to see how high she was. How high does that seem to a 1 y/o? She squealed in delight as she realized that she was actually doing it. She continued to climb all the way to the top. She stood up and looked down the stairs and smiled a huge smile from ear-to-ear. She was very proud of herself. She had just conquered her Mt. Everest. Later when Daddy got home, I said..."Oh show Daddy how you can climb the stairs"...without missing a beat, she turned...
