Sun & Sand

I know this Is an unpopular opinion, but someone has to say it: I do not like the beach. Every summer, people start talking about "beach days" as if they've discovered eternal happiness. They'll post photos of crystal-blue water and write captions like *"Paradise found."* Meanwhile, I'm wondering if we visited the same place. First of all, the sand. Nobody warns you that sand is apparently a sentient life form whose sole purpose is to attach itself to everything you own. It's in your shoes. It's in your towel. It's in your car. It's in your lunch. Three months later, you'll find a handful of it in a jacket pocket and wonder if the beach has been slowly following you home. Then there's the sunblock situation. The process begins with carefully applying sunscreen to protect your skin. Five minutes later, sweat carries it directly into your eyes, where it transforms into a chemical weapon. Here We Are—Our Country's 250th Birthday! When I think about our country, I automatically think about John 15:13: "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." (Although, catch me on a bad day and I may feel differently! 😂) There are very few people I would actually lay down my life for. Some days, I don't even li...

My third child, Sarah, graduated from that same school and is now heading off to college. How did that happen? I'm pretty sure she was in kindergarten about three weeks ago. My youngest, David, is now in 10th grade. Tenth grade! Apparently, time moves at warp speed once you become a parent. Oh, and did I mention that I work at the school now? Yep, I'm working full-time. Between being a parent and working at the school, I practically live there. At this point, they should probably just give me my own parking space and a cot. In my spare time—which seems to exist only in theory—I still love creating digital planners. I've just finished a monthly, weekly, and daily digital planner for 2026–2027, starting in July. I'm also hoping to create some matching stickers to offer for free here on the blog. Why free? Because I enjoy making them! Plus, if ...
