Eating the Bread of Idleness

I've been so busy since Sarah was born. I'm having a hard time staying on top of the house. I think I've figured out my problem....it's the TV. Not that i'm against TV. I think if you can find some nice wholesome tv..then have fun. It's just that i'm too busy and once that tv is put on, I find it eats more time then I intended. So my plan is limit my tv. If I can't do that...then i'm going to cut it out completely!!

She's Starting......................

How does Sarah go from Starting to crawl to starting to stand in one week? It seems to be happening so quickly. She went from barely crawling. I thought to myself that she'd be an average to late walker. She started crawling and going from crawling to a sitting up position about two weeks ago. Just short of being 8 months. Now, she's crawling..sitting up and pulling herself up to her knees. She's trying to go to her feet but hasn't been too successful unless she's leaning on something beneath her.

Tonight I laid her down for bed and she started crying. She usually goes down, so I let her cry a few minutes. When I went back up, there she was kneeling at the side of her crib. Crying and looking pathetic.

Most moms would be happy about their baby learning to walk. I'm not...it means she's growing up. Rolling Eyes

So Stinkin' Cute

What is it with babies? They do the cutest things. Even something as simple as a smile can bring such a happy emotion that you well-up with tears of joy.

Sarah is crawling very well. It's so stinkin' adorable, it's not funny. This is the only time in a girls life that she can have huge thighs and look great!!

Today Sarah was crawling around. She's been eyeing our sofa tables for a while, but I couldn't understand why. Today I found out. She wanted to crawl under them and see what would happen. So I walk in the room and there she is...stuck between the couch and the sofa end table. She had crawled through the bottom and was sitting between the couch and the table. Her little leg was on the bottom of the table..she didn't have room to bring that one through. How she found room to turn around and sit is beyond my imagination. She looked at me with this look on her face, as if to say, "Look what I did. Can ya get me outta here?" ...I couldn't help but laugh. Yes, I took pictures. I made her sit there while I got the camera and took a picture. I missed way too many cute things from Steph and Bob. With Sarah , I keep the camera plugged in.

Could life get any sweeter? I don't think so.

8 Months old!!

I can't believe it!! My little sunshine is 8 months old. Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday I was holding a new born. Today she's 8 months old and loves crawling around.

She just recently has gotten good at crawling...she can also crawl and get herself back into a sitting up position. She loves people and loves getting their attention with her eyes and then smiling when they look at her. She has big eyes and an even bigger smile. Even though she's crawling, she doesn't crawl too far from me. So, i've not had to run after her.

I just switched to disposable diapers. She had a terrible rash that wasn't going away. It didn't seem to bother her. It was annoying and persistent. I really couldn't use desitin and other ointments with the cloth diapers. Also, we thought the cloth diaper was causing part of the problem. The rash is getting better and...truth be told...I LIKE Disposable diapers. I LOVE throwing away the ...ummm..."Mess" and I like not having to wash them and stuff the inserts. I can't believe how thin the disposables are. All her clothing now seems large on her because the cloth diapers took up alot of room. I think i'm going to stick with disposable diapers. I tried them, liked them, used them for almost 8 months and now i'm going to disposables. I think the fact that she is starting on formula and her urine and bowl movements are smellier helps with that decision.

Easter Sunday was Sarah's first Easter. She had on an adorable dress that was given to me by my sister's , sis-in-law. It was adorable.
He Is Risen!!!

Spring has Sprung!!

ok, it's a corny title but I couldn't help myself. I loved todays weather....sunny and 60!! We've had a busy Easter holiday and also found out that Rob's mom died on Good Friday. We were all very sad. She was sick but we didn't expect her to pass away. We had the wake on Monday and the burial on Tuesday.

The wake was a long day. We drove down early and spent the entire day in Queens. The hours were from 2-5 and 7-9. We all went out to eat in between the services. It was nice to spend the time with the entire family. Even our nephews and nieces were there. They're all getting older and have jobs, college, life etc. that keeps them from alot of family gatherings. Although..no one ever misses a funeral. On Tuesday we drove down early and then there was a long drive out to Calverton on LI. Grandma will be buried next to Grandpa at Calverton, which is a veterans cemetery. We'll miss Grandma.

It made me sad that my baby, Sarah will not really get to know Grandma. She won't have any grandparents. She did well with all the long trips and long days. I can't complain.

I think my sister-in-law has some pictures of Sarah with Grandma before she passed away. I'll post those when I get them. They're very special pictures.

It was sad losing Grandma. She was 82. Although she had a long life, it was a shock. We knew she was sick but didn't think it was her time.

We loved her.
Rest in Peace Grandma.

Paulsen Family

Where does the time go?

Where does the time go? Sarah is 7-1/2 months old. She now has her two bottom teeth, is eating food and just the other day went for her 1st walk in her stroller. My heart is breaking. She is growing so quickly, it seems like just yesterday that I had her in my kitchen. She is crawling and is getting good at it and starting to get around better. Her smile is contagious and her personality if very calm and laid-back. Which, is a pleasure to deal with.

We've started teaching Sarah, "no touch" and i'm having her sit quietly on my lap during the day. She is doing well with "no touch" and understands it. She doesn't always want to obey but is learning that it's better to obey. Kid With Doll Tantrum

I've got pictures and i'll post them on photobucket and then add the slide show soon.

I was watching her crawling today and I find it amazing how she is learing. Sometimes I find it amazing that she doesn't cry in frustration. She has a hard time getting some place and it takes her a while. I would get frustrated with that. Today I watched her and was encouraging her to come to me. She would smile and keep on crawling. It would take her a while but once she got to me , she'd have this big smile on her face that would light up a room. Definately worth the wait!! I was thinking about how much she enjoys it when I encourage her. She'll start crawling to me from across the room, (we've got a huge tv room), then she'll take a break and look at me..I can tell she's tired but once I smile at her and encourage her, it seems to give her the energy she needs to continue on.

I thought about how many people need encouragment to continue on during tribulation and trials. I want to try to be more aware and encouraging to those people.
